Accessibility Statement

Last updated: March 2025

Our Commitment

Travel eSIMple is committed to ensuring that travelesimple.com is accessible to as many people as possible, including users with disabilities. We strive to make our eSIM comparison platform usable by everyone, regardless of ability, disability, age, or the technology they use to access the internet.

We believe that digital accessibility is a legal and ethical obligation. Under the Equality Act 2010, service providers — including website operators — are required to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when accessing services compared to non-disabled people. This statement sets out how we are meeting those obligations.

This accessibility statement applies to travelesimple.com and its subdomains.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. The guidelines define three levels of conformance: Level A (minimum), Level AA (standard), and Level AAA (enhanced).

Travel eSIMple aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are currently working towards full conformance and acknowledge that some areas of our website may not yet meet this standard. We are actively working to address known issues as detailed below.

Current status: Partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some content does not fully conform to the standard, as described in the Known Issues section below.

Known Issues

We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are working to resolve them:

  • Colour contrast (WCAG 1.4.3): Some text elements on comparison tables and pricing cards may not meet the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1. We are reviewing and updating colour choices across these components.
  • Images and icons (WCAG 1.1.1): Some decorative images and flag icons may lack appropriate alternative text. We are auditing all images to ensure appropriate alt attributes are in place.
  • Keyboard navigation (WCAG 2.1.1): Some interactive elements in our eSIM plan comparison tables may not be fully navigable by keyboard alone. We are refactoring these components to ensure full keyboard accessibility.
  • Focus indicators (WCAG 2.4.7): Focus indicators may be insufficient or inconsistent in certain areas of the site. We are implementing a consistent and clearly visible focus style across all interactive elements.
  • Mobile accessibility: Some elements may not reflow correctly on mobile viewports at 320px width in accordance with WCAG 1.4.10 (Reflow). We are addressing this as part of ongoing responsive design improvements.

We aim to resolve all known Level AA issues within 6 months of the date of this statement. If you encounter any accessibility issue not listed here, please let us know.

  • JavaScript (React)
  • WAI-ARIA 1.1

We test our website using a combination of automated tools (including Google Lighthouse, axe DevTools, and WAVE) and manual testing. We aim to test compatibility with the following assistive technologies and browsers:

  • VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS;

What We're Doing to Improve

We are committed to continuously improving the accessibility of our website. Our improvement programme includes:

  • Conducting a full accessibility audit of travelesimple.com against WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria;
  • Incorporating accessibility requirements into our development workflow so that new features are built accessibly from the outset;
  • Training our development and content teams on accessibility principles and best practices;
  • Engaging with users who have disabilities to gather feedback on their experience of our website;
  • Publishing updated accessibility statements as our conformance status improves.

We are working towards achieving full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. We recognise this as an ongoing process rather than a one-time exercise.
